getch and getchar

difference po ng getch at getchar ?

getch/getche are non-standard function, meaning it will not work on all compilers. Try it yourself in DevC and you will get an error but it will work on Borland turboc, furthermore it does not echo the key pressed meaning it will not get displayed in the console.

unlike getch/getche getchar is a standard function, so it will work in any of the compilers, but it will have an echo or displays the key pressed and requires the user to press enter i think.

NOTE: turboc and devC both of these IDE uses different compilers, so don't get confused

and also all of these three functions returns the key pressed

compiler extension ang getch() meaning gagana lng xa pag supported ng compiler mo ung getch().. ginagamit getch() pra ndi mag close ung console window mo pag nrrun mo ung program. to get a clearer picture of this try mo toh (observe: try mo mag run ng compile with getch() then try mo nmn without.) malalaman mo ung difference.


yung getchar() nmn function xa na ginagamit pra mka read ng data from the keyboard.
